Dr Gidon Fixler is a specialist prosthodontist who takes a thoughtful, personalised approach to care. He believes every smile is unique and works closely with each patient to restore comfort, function and natural aesthetics. Whether through a single-tooth restoration or a full-mouth rehabilitation, Gidon’s focus is on delivering results that feel comfortable, look beautiful and last.

Gidon’s passion for prosthodontics is grounded in personal experience. Born with a condition that meant he was congenitally missing many teeth, he underwent complex dental rehabilitation in his early twenties. This journey gave him firsthand insight into the emotional and practical challenges of dental treatment, and sparked his commitment to providing others with the same level of care and precision that he received.

After gaining experience in both regional Victoria and Melbourne, Gidon is now proud to live and work locally. He is committed to bringing the highest standard of specialist prosthodontic care to his own community.

Education & Experience

Dr Gidon Fixler completed his Bachelor and Master of Dentistry at La Trobe University, graduating Dux of his class in 2017. He went on to complete his Primary Examinations with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) in 2018.

After developing his clinical skills in private practices across Ballarat and south-east Melbourne, Gidon undertook his specialist training in Prosthodontics at the University of Melbourne, where he again graduated as top student of his cohort.

Gidon is passionate about education and ongoing professional development. He currently lectures in Prosthodontics at both the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University and regularly presents for organisations such as the Australian Dental Association (Victoria Branch) and General Dental Residency (GDR). He also co-leads the Advanced Restorative Diploma course for general dentists through GDR.

He is an active member of the dental community, serving as:

  • Secretary of the Australian Prosthodontic Society (Victorian Branch)

  • Co-Director of the ITI Malvern Study Club

  • Committee Member of the ADA Victorian Branch Inner City Melbourne Group

Gidon’s particular clinical interests include digital workflows for both fixed and removable prosthodontics, implant restorations, and full-mouth rehabilitation.
